Josh is a trial lawyer who provides passionate, client-centered representation to clients in criminal defense and civil rights matters in state and federal courts in Massachusetts.
Josh founded The Boston Defender, a criminal defense and civil rights law firm, in 2022. He has defended hundreds of clients in criminal cases, appearing most frequently in the Boston Municipal Court, Central and Roxbury Divisions. He also regularly appears on behalf of clients in civil rights matters in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Before founding The Boston Defender, Josh was an Assistant Public Defender at the Office of the Monroe County Public Defender in Rochester, New York. There, he defended hundreds of indigent clients in criminal cases throughout Monroe County, New York.

Josh also served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Frank P. Geraci, Jr., then-Chief United States District Court Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. Josh advised Judge Geraci on a variety of criminal and civil rights matters.

Josh graduated from the Syracuse University College of Law in 2016 and from Middlebury College in 2011. He is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts, and the United States District Courts for the Western District of New York and the District of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations, the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National Police Accountability Project.
